Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) has announced a new promotion, offering domestic flights with fares as low as RM89 starting on 10 August until 30 September 2021. The campaign arrives not long after the government’s decision to ease restrictions on travel for Malaysian citizens who have fully received their vaccination doses.
According to the airline’s official website, all-in one-way economy class flights within Peninsular Malaysia are offered in Lite, Basic, and Flex packages which are priced at RM89, RM109 and RM179 respectively. Meanwhile, flights from KL to Sarawak start from RM159, RM179 and RM249, whereas KL to Sabah are at RM189, RM209 and RM279 respectively. The travel period for these domestic flights is stated to commence from 10 August until 31 October 2021.
MAB is assuring customers that their safety will be guaranteed as it has enhanced health and safety protocols across multiple touchpoints at airports and also onboard their planes. These include mandatory usage of masks, frequent aircraft disinfection, and providing passengers with complimentary hygiene kits – including a non-surgical face mask, as well as sachets of hand sanitizer and sanitary wipes which are packed in a sealed zip-lock pouch.
The airline noted that 93% of its pilot and cabin crew have been fully vaccinated, and expects to achieve 100% by mid-August this year. In addition, it also mentioned that its aircraft fleet has also undergone an upgrade to its onboard HEPA filters, which now features better filtration capability to ensure the efficiency of air recirculation that are proven to filter out 99.97% of viruses and other harmful pollutants.
