Electronic Arts has confirmed that it is remaking Dead Space. Development of the remake is handled by Motive Studios, as we’ve heard from previous reports. But despite the official announcement, there’s no official release date for the title. While that is still true, word on the street is that the publisher intends to release it near the end of next year.
GamesBeat reports that sources familiar with the Dead Space remake’s development claim the title will launch in fall of 2022. As with these seasonal windows, this means some time between late September and late December. On a similar note, EA intends to release the game during its 2023 fiscal year. Either way, this means that the game is still over a year away.
All that is assuming that development of the Dead Space remake goes smoothly and according to plan. But we’ve seen plenty of games that were supposed to be released this year get pushed to the next. So it’s quite possible that this one will suffer the same fate.
An EA spokesperson also provided a statement, which essentially says that the company doesn’t have an official release date yet. But it is “glad people are excited for the game”.
