The development of Halo Infinite has been bumpy, to say the very least. And things just got bumpier, especially for the fans of the series. This is because story bits have been leaked onto the internet. And to make things worse, the leak is because of carelessness on Microsoft’s part.
Joseph Staten, creative director for Halo Infinite, tweeted about the unfortunate accident. According to the tweets, bits of the game’s campaign files were accidentally added to its mulltiplayer preview build. Needless to say, since these files are regarding the campaign, they also contain spoilers. Naturally, the obligatory cautionary note was included, as well as the plea to not share them if you stumble across them.
Leaks like this are painful for the dev team and can ruin the campaign experience for everyone. So please, keep you eyes peeled for spoilers and don't spread them if you see them.❤️ 2/2

The leaked bits are indeed nothing to laugh at. The extremely long plaintext dump consists of strings of text from the Halo Infinite campaign. If you’re patient enough to go through it, you’ll probably be able to make sense of it, and spoil the story for yourself in the process.
All things considered, because it’s all dumped in a plaintext document, it’s very easy to duplicate. So don’t expect it to be purged from the internet, at least not anytime soon. As usual, if you’re really worried about this kind of thing, you should be careful of the sites you visit, lest you come across it by accident. A good example is Reddit, where we found one example of the plaintext dump.
