After it was accidentally leaked through an online banner, HMD Global has finally taken the drape off its latest phone, the Nokia XR20. The highlight of the new device is said to be its rugged nature which is mainly made possible by the phone’s casing.
Despite looking more down to earth as compared to other rugged phones in the market, HMD Global said that XR20’s body has been designed to meet the MIL-STD-810H standard. Additionally, a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus is also there to protect its screen.
When it comes to specs though, the XR20 carries rather modest hardware though. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage, the 5G phone also comes with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display.
For photography, the XR20 relies on optics from ZEISS which have been equipped into its 48MP f/1.79 main camera and 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide camera. Interesting enough, HMD Global has opted to include a pair of flash into the phone with one carrying dual-tone LED while another is a single-coloured LED.
Other than that, XR20 also carries an 8MP selfie camera and 4630mAh battery that supports a wired fast charger of up to 18W as well as 15W wireless charging. Pricewise, the phone starts at US$549.99 (~RM2326) although it is not known for now if HMD Global has a plan to release the Nokia XR20 in Malaysia or otherwise.
