OPPO today revealed that it will be launching the sixth-generation members of the Reno smartphones in Malaysia next month. In general, the Reno6 and Reno6 Z have actually been teased by the company since earlier this month.
While it is possible that the variant released in Malaysia could have different specs but based on what we have seen in India, the Reno6 Z may carry the same specs from the Reno6 Pro over there since they share the same design. If that is true, then the phone could be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor and carries a 6.53-inch Full HD+ 90Hz AMOLED display.
Other than that, the Reno 6Z may also feature a 64MP quad-camera module and a colour temperature sensor on its back as well as 32MP selfie camera, and 4500mAh battery. Also equipped with 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage, the phone supports the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging tech that allows it to be fully charged in 31 minutes.
As for the vanilla version of Reno6, you can differentiate it rather easily from the Pro / Z model since it has flat sides as opposed to the curved edges on its higher-end counterpart. The phone also carries a smaller 6.41-inch screen but still has a Full HD+ 90HZ AMOLED panel in it
In addition to that, the standard Reno6 is running on a MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor as well as 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. While the phone may feature a 64MP triple-camera module instead of a quad-camera as per Reno 6 Pro, the only thing not present on Reno6 is the 2MP mono camera while the rest of the cameras are the same and this also applies to its 32MP selfie camera.
Not surprisingly, OPPO has equipped a smaller 4300mAh battery into the Reno6 but has retained the support for 65W SupperVOOC 2.0. Since the battery is smaller, the phone can gain back its battery capacity much faster than Reno6 Pro with 28 minutes of charging time.
Over in India, the Reno6 Pro is priced at INR39,990 (~RM2,271) while the Reno6 goes for INR29,990 (~RM1,703). We shall know more details regarding Reno6 Z and Reno6’s availability as well as pricing in Malaysia once they make their debut here on 5 August.
