It has been a year since Electronic Arts (EA) announced the sequel to its much beloved Skate series, so much so that even the publisher itself acknowledged that realisation in a recent tweet. Thankfully, there’s more to be said in the post and it is revealed that the developers will be showcasing Skate 4-related content “tomorrow” – quoted, because the tweet was shared around 15 hours ago at the time of writing, therefore there’s a possibility that it might happen as early as later tonight at local time.
As for what exactly are we expecting from this upcoming unveiling was not mentioned. Possibilities include a teaser trailer, gameplay videos, screenshots or even something insanely mundane, such as a logo reveal. For the fans’ sake, we’re hoping that it would be everything else that was mentioned than just the latter.
It’s worth noting that the “Skate 4” title is merely tentative, speculative even. While the publisher confirmed it is developing the successor to the series, it did not specify if the game will be a direct sequel to 2010’s Skate 3 or is a complete reboot of the franchise. Either way, EA will have high expectations to fulfill as fans have been waiting for a new Skate game for quite some time now.

Skate 4’s planned unveiling is also days ahead of the publisher’s Play Live event that is slated to take place this weekend. EA promised to show more previews of its upcoming games during the live broadcast including the recently announced Battlefield 2042, new Apex Legends content, and perhaps snippets of the Dead Space reboot. Those looking forward to seeing content related to new Star Wars, Mass Effect and Dragon Age games will be left disappointed as the publisher had noted that these titles will not be making an appearance at the event.
