For the long-running Super Robot Wars series, English and PC releases have been rare. In fact, these were relegated to only two of the three most recent releases, SRW V and X. But with Super Robot Wars 30, that list is now just a little bit longer.
The Super Robot Wars series, and the latest 30 iteration, should need no introduction. But for those who need it, it’s a massive mashup of multiple mecha anime series into a tactical RPG. This range from old classics like Mazinger Z all the way to more modern titles like SSSS.GRIDMAN, which is actually more Ultraman than mecha. And let’s not forget the multiple entries of Mobile Suit Gundam. For those who like cross universe interactions and storytelling, this is basically the definitive series besides the Gundam-specific G Generation series.
The 30 in the SRW 30 name represents the 30th anniversary of the series. And while it doesn’t have 30 anime series in it as part of its story, that number is still at a very respectable 22. The Gundam entries here are exclusively from the UC timeline too, which is oddly specific even by SRW standards.
At any rate, SRW 30 will be released on 28 October on Steam and PS4, starting from RM199 and RM239, respectively. Both versions come with Japanese voices and English text, basically the best experience possible.
