Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has announced that the application for i-Citra withdrawal will be opened to the public tomorrow, 12 July. The new starting date is three days earlier than what has been announced before by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin last month.
The EPF i-Citra is one of several programmes that were introduced under the Pakej Perlindungan Rakyat dan Pemulihan Ekonomi (PEMULIH) which also includes the extension of the free 1GB daily data and discounts on TNB’s electricity bill. Aside from that, there is also the Bantuan Kehilangan Pendapatan (BKP) and Bantuan Khas COVID-19 (BKC) which we have discussed before right here.
Through i-Citra, EPF members are allowed to withdraw up to RM 1,000 per month for the next 5 months. Here are some examples as shown on EPF’s website:
To be eligible, members must be less than 55 years old and has at least RM 150 in their EPF account. EPF also pointed out that i-Citra payments will be taken from the member’s Account 2 first and will only dip into Account 1 if needed, as shown in these examples:
While the first payment from the programme will be made in August, EPF members have until 30 September 2021 to submit their applications via i-Citra’s portal. For further information, do check out the i-Citra’s FAQ document on the EPF website right here.
