Back in July last year, OnePlus launched its self-titled Buds TWS in-ear headphones with a price tag of US$75 (~RM314) and a product design that clearly got it in trouble with US Customs. Now, it’s being reported that the phone maker is working on a more premium version of its earbuds, and it’s looking for people to help test them.
The application form was posted on OnePlus’ Lab page, under the name “Buds Pro”; another sign that the brand can’t be bothered to be coy about its endeavour. In any case, applications for testing will be accepted from now until 17 July. Additionally, there is also an application form available for individuals who are interested in testing out the OnePlus Nord 2.
Sadly, the page doesn’t provide any specific details about the OnePlus Buds Pro but safe to say, the TWS earbuds will undoubtedly be priced higher than the current OnePlus Buds and Buds Z, with a likely price tag of US$99 (~RM414). More importantly, it would be interesting to see how these earbuds would go up against the Nothing Ear 1, the earbuds under the brand created by OnePlus’ former CEO, Carl Pei.
