Besides his guest appearance in Mortal Kombat 11, it’s been a long time since RoboCop was turned into a video game character. But with a new game called RoboCop: Rogue City in the works, his next appearance will be in 2023.
RoboCop: Rogue City is currently being made by Teyon, Nacon, and MGM, with these being the developer, publisher and license holder, respectively. It will be a first-person shooter, but otherwise it has all the familiar RoboCop flavours. These range from the Old Detroit setting to the custom Auto-9 pistol. Though beyond those and the fact that you’ll be playing as the cyborg police himself, nothing much is yet known about the game.
As mentioned, Teyon is the developer behind the game. But that may be a point that gamers may want to pay attention to. This is because this is the same developer behind Rambo: The Video Game of 2014, and 2019’s Terminator: Resistance. Both games were generally panned, but to be fair, the same can be said about games of both series in general. Though on the flip side, both Rambo and the Terminator were also guest characters alongside RoboCop in MK11.
At any rate, RoboCop: Rogue City will be available on consoles and PC in 2023, according to its teaser trailer. It even has a Steam page already, but it is as devoid of information as you’d imagine.
