We don’t even know for sure what this year’s iPhone line will be called yet. But we are already seeing reports of what sort of displays the models of next year will be equipped with. And if they are to be believed, all models will be sporting displays with 120Hz refresh rate.
MacRumors reports that all four models of the iPhones to be released in 2022 will feature the 120Hz ProMotion display. There are already reports of this year’s models coming in lower-end and flagship variants. But if they will all share the same display, then the reduction in specs to justify the lower-end label will be seen elsewhere. For now, the report speculates that the battery and cameras will be where the differences will be found.
Rounding up the previous rumours that we’ve heard about the iPhone models of 2022, and there’s a surprising amount of possible details already. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted that Apple will be giving its 2022 phones periscope zoom for the cameras. Though at the time, there was no indication as to if this will be only for the pricier models, or if it will be available series-wide. Another previous rumour indicates that they could come with the company’s own 5G chips.
All in all though, it’s still too early to feel invested in what Apple’s plans are for the iPhone lineup of 2022. After all, as mentioned, we don’t even know for certain if this year’s range will be called the iPhone 13 or iPhone 12s yet.
