We saw reports of Vivo getting its supply of Samsung’s ultra-thin glass for its upcoming foldable phone, the Nex Fold. Now, word on the internet is that the company will be unveiling the device sometime late this year, or by January of the next.
Prominent leakster Ice Universe claims that Vivo will not launch the Nex 5 this year, but will launch the Nex Fold instead. This is sort of corroborated by display analyst Ross Young, who says in a reply that a January 2022 launch is expected. Not too far a departure, overall. Young also says that it will be the largest in-folding device in terms of panel size.
Will become the largest in-folding foldable in terms of panel size. We expect it in January.

Young’s claim of the Vivo Nex Fold being the largest of its kind means that it will measure over eight inches diagonally. After all, the current largest in-folding phone is the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold, measuring in at 8.01 inches. It will also undoubtedly enter tablet territory in terms of size. As noted by TechRadar, the current generation iPad mini has a 7.9-inch screen.
For now, nothing much else is known about the upcoming Vivo Nex Fold. But with the speculated display size, one can imagine that it will be an absolute monster in terms of size even when folded. Phones these days already struggle to fit inside pockets, and it looks like the newer foldables are taking it to the next level. The same can likely be said about their prices as well.
