You may notice that the internet looks somewhat empty today. If that is the case, you may want to check if your browser is using AdBlock or AdBlock Plus add-ons. Ad blockers may have inadvertently wiped out the content on some of the most popular sites, making the pages appear blank.
It’s unclear exactly what caused the problem, but one of two things will resolve the issue: either the problem will go away on its own, or you can fix it by going into your filter list settings and requesting an update. The AdBlock Plus support team verified the issue, but only in an email without addressing it in greater detail. Many social media posts have mentioned that recent changes in web filtering exclusively caused AdBlock Plus to block content tagged as “media”.
So far, it appears that no public statement from AdBlock Plus’ social channels and owners Eyeo GmbH has been issued, but at least the problem appears to have been brief.
