Samsung recently announced the expansion of its Odyssey gaming monitor series with its new 2021 lineup. A follow-up to last year’s gaming monitors, the Korean brand’s 2021 lineup is comprised of three display SKUs: the G7, G5, and G3.
Starting with the base model, the Odyssey G3 comes in two display sizes, 24-inches and 27-inches. Both displays have a maximum resolution of Full HD (1920 x 1080), along with panels that boast a 144Hz refresh rate with a 1ms response time via Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT). Unlike the G5 and G7, the G3 lineup does not support HDR.
Moving up the ladder, the Odyssey G5 is the mid-level entry, and comes in a single 27-inch size. It supports HDR10 and has a native resolution of 2560 x 1440, or WQHD. Additionally, it has a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz and a 1ms GTG response time.
Sitting at the top of the pedestal is the Odyssey G7. This gaming monitor boasts a 28-inch 4K display, with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz and 1ms GTG response time. Moreover, the display is also HDR-ready and more specifically, it has support for VESA DisplayHDR 400.
Regardless of size, all Samsung 2021 Odyssey gaming monitors are NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible. That said, both the Odyssey G3 and G5 support AMD’s FreeSync Premium, while the G7 supports FreeSync Premium Pro. Further, all three gaming monitors are flat panels.
At the time of writing, Samsung did not specify local availability or pricing.
