The Apple iPhone 12 mini is clearly the model with the lowest performance in the family. And the difference is large enough that the company may have decided to kill production of the model. And the company is doing so ahead of schedule too.
A report by Taiwanese research firm TrendForce states that the iPhone 12 mini is no longer in production. The report cites the device hitting its End-of-Life in the second quarter thanks to said disappointing sales. Instead, the company will be focusing “on driving of the three non-mini models” of the upcoming iPhone 12s line.
This does put the fate of the iPhone 12s mini into question. The report in question does not say that the next mini device will be cancelled, just that it won’t get the same marketing attention. Chances are it will also have a shorter production period like the current iPhone 12 mini. This is especially if it also shares the same fate of slow sales. Which the company is prepared for anyway if it is not going to put the same effort to drive its sale.
But going back to the current mini iPhone. Chances are you can still buy it while stocks last. But once that runs out, it’s gone for good.
