Unless you are an Astro IPTV customer, you most probably have encountered the dreaded Signal Unavailable notice when you tried to access certain Astro channels yesterday. Also known as the SCNA error, this is usually caused by rain fade but that is certainly not the case here as customers are experiencing it despite having great weather with clear blue skies.
According to a statement from the satellite TV operator yesterday, the disruption was actually caused by an outage that was faced by its satellite operator. Unfortunately, the situation still remains the same until now.
This morning, Astro informed customers that its satellite provider is still working to fix the outage. In fact, the company specifically noted that the unnamed provider “requires more time” to rectify the situation which sounds like they are dealing with a major technical issue right now.
Naturally, numerous customers have begun to demand compensation from Astro due to the ongoing disruption. The company did provide one month of free access to Disney+ Hotstar after customers experienced activation issues earlier this month, so let’s see if Astro will budge to the demand this time around.
