Astro customers throughout the country have reported disruption in their service as they are unable to access certain channels provided by the satellite TV operator. The disruption has been going on for the past few hours and there is no definitive full recovery time at the moment.
The disruption comes in the form of the infamous Signal Unavailable error that usually happens due to heavy rain. However, today’s disruption took place even though the weather is sunny with clear blue skies.
Some of our customers may not be able to access selected channels due to technical issues. Kindly be patient as we are in progress to resolve this issue. (1/2)

When Astro released the first statement to acknowledge the disruption at 2:58 PM on Twitter, the company didn’t mention any particular reason aside from a generic “technical issues”. Only in the second statement that was released at 6:06 PM, Astro mentioned that the outage faced by its satellite provider was the reason behind the disruption.
This pretty much explained the wide appearance of the Signal Unavailable error and why the service disruption didn’t affect Astro IPTV customers as well as Astro Go users. Meanwhile, the company said that the recovery process is still ongoing although Astro has also said that most of the affected channels are now available once again.
