The Employees Provident Fund (EPF / KWSP) has just launched e-Payroll, a digital service that provides automated calculations of statutory deductions and contributions to regulatory bodies. An enhancement of its i-Akaun (employer) portal, the EPF said the service was aimed at SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises).
“The e-Payroll service is designed to assist SME users of i-Akaun (Employer) who are not using any payroll solution or do not have the financial means to utilise a payroll solution,” said EPF chairman Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir, according to The Star.
e-Payroll gives employers the ability to digitally store employee records, including those related to salary, in addition to slashing the time required to handle tasks related to statutory obligations.

As one would expect, e-Payroll was developed in partnership with and is endorsed by the Inland Revenue Board Malaysia (IRBM / LHDN), Social Security Organisation (Socso), and Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp).
600 SMEs were said to have enrolled in e-Payroll’s pilot test and soft launch. For more information about the service, you can visit its official webpage.
