As part of its role as the official distributor for the service in Malaysia, Astro has provided the access to Disney+ Hotstar for Movie Pack customers on the same day that it was launched here earlier this week. Not surprisingly, it was quite well received although Astro found itself being overwhelmed by activation requests from customers.
Interesting enough, the satellite pay-TV operator has announced that it will implement a bill adjustment in response to the activation delay that was faced by many of its customers on 1 June. As you may recall, Astro has increased the monthly subscription fee of all Movie Pack customers by RM 5 starting June onwards after adding Disney+ Hotstar into their packages.

Aside from Movie Pack customers, the bill adjustment will also be applied to Starter Plus Pack and Value Plus Pack customers in addition to those that choose to obtain the service as a standalone subscription as long as they have signed up with Astro by 5 June 2021 at 11:59 PM. Yes, Astro was very specific about the timing, as stated in this FAQ .
In other words, Astro is footing this month’s Disney+ Hotstar subscription for all customers that were eligible for the service. If you are one of them, you don’t have to do anything aside from making sure that the automatic adjustment has been performed in your next bill.
