The Next@Acer Global Press Conference (GPC) has returned once again in which the Taiwanese giant would unveil plenty of new devices that will be making their way into retail stores all over the world soon. For this GPC, one such device is the Acer Swift X which marked yet another expansion for the company’s long-running Swift series.
Since the new Swift X not only has a similar letter in its name but also has a 14-inch display, one may easily confuse it with last year’s Swift 3X. However, the specs sheet showed that Acer has definitely equipped the new model with plenty of hardware that would set them far apart.
For example, the Swift X can only be obtained with an AMD Ryzen 5000 Series processor with options of up to the Ryzen 7 5800U chip as well as 16GB onboard LPDDR4X RAM. In terms of graphics, the new laptop comes standard with the newly announced NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti alongside of up to 2TB solid state drive and 59Whr battery that supports the fast-charging feature.
Furthermore, the 1.39 kg also offers a more capable Full HD IPS display panel with a maximum brightness level of 300 nits and sRGB colour gamut coverage of 100 per cent. Based on these specs, it seems that the Swift X is skewed towards content creators and gamers that are looking for entry-level or lower mid-tier laptops.
At the moment, Acer has yet to reveal the availability and price tag of Swift X in Malaysia. However, the laptop does have a general global release date in June and carries a general starting price of USD 899.99 (RM 3,725) / EU 899 (~RM 4,542) / RMB 6,499 (RM 4,218) depending on respective markets.
