PlayStation Asia has announced the free games for PS Plus subscribers in June 2021. And headlining the lineup is a new game that will be released on the first day they are claimable.
Well, sort of. The game in question is Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, which is a remake of the game released back in 2006. It features the Yakuza series’ Dragon Engine on the graphics department. Stages are also getting new music to go with them. And probably most importantly, the game will come with more modern online functionality. It’s also worth mentioning that this is a PS4 exclusive, which makes it all the more special an inclusion.

The other game for the previous-generation console is Star Wars Squadrons. Released back in October last year, the game is focused almost entirely around the franchise’s starfighters. Then there’s the PS5 title, Operation: Tango, which is an online co-op title where voice communication is key. Not exactly easy, considering it’s also not exactly easy to get a PS5.
All three games will be available to download between 1 June and 5 July 2021. Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown will be available for a month longer, until 2 August. Don’t forget to claim this month’s free games for PS Plus subscribers, while they are still available.
