More than a month after the official global launch of the Venu 2 and 2S, Garmin Malaysia has confirmed via social media that the new smartwatches will arrive in Malaysia this June. In terms of pricing, the company has confirmed that both wearables will retail at RM1,799.
For a quick recap; the Venu 2 is the larger smartwatch from the series, coming in at 45mm with a 1.3-inch 416 x 515 px OLED screen. The Venu 2S is offered at 40mm, along with a smaller 1.1-inch 360 x 360 px display. Both watches feature Gorilla Glass 3 protection and are water rated at 5ATM.
The duo also comes with a variety of sensors, including heart rate and blood oxygen trackers, barometer, compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, thermometer and an ambient light sensor. Smart functions include onboard music streaming support and storage, notifications, call management, as well as GPS and NFC functionalities. Being fitness and health oriented smartwatches, both models also feature an assortment of health and fitness monitoring applications and built-in training profiles.
As for battery life, Garmin claims that the Venu 2 is capable of lasting up to 11 days when used normally, while the Venu 2S can reach up to 10 days. A notable improvement over its predecessor is the onboard fast charging support, which is said to be able to provide users with almost an entire day of use after just 10 minutes of charging.
Garmin Malaysia stated on its Facebook page that preorders are now open for the Garmin Venu 2 and Venu 2S via its official website. As mentioned earlier, both smartwatches are slated to arrive in Malaysia next month, with the exact date of availability expected to be revealed by the time June rolls in.
