The coordinator of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has announced the second registration session for the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine which will be opened to those that are under the age of 60 tomorrow, 26 May. This session will take place at the official website for the Special Committee On COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) from 12:00 PM onwards.
At the moment, the session which begun earlier this week was only opened to individuals aged 60 years old and above residing in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor and Sarawak. When it was announced last week, Minister Khairy had already noted that the vaccination appointments will be opened to others if there are leftovers by 25 May.

While the age requirement will be removed tomorrow, the scope of the registration will still be limited to these five states. Even though the second AZ rollout will now be opened to individuals under the age of 60 years old, Minister Khairy insisted that senior citizens will continue to be prioritised by PICK.
During PICK’s press conference today, Minister Khairy has also confirmed that those who are already on the waiting list from the first round of AZ rollout will be automatically transferred into the second round. JKJAV’s official Twitter account has also said that such individuals don’t have to register themselves once again tomorrow.
