Crysis Remastered was finally released last year, 12 years after its initial release. Unsurprisingly, Crysis 2 Remastered is next in line. And it looks like developer Crytek is already working on remastering the sequel.
The official Crysis Twitter account posted two things that strongly suggest that the remaster is already in the works. One is the line “They used to call me Prophet”. This was said by Major Laurence Barnes at the beginning of the game. Following this tweet, Crytek put up a screenshot from the original game.

Following the release of the first game’s remastered version, a Crysis 2 Remastered isn’t exactly surprising. Though one can argue that, despite it being a 10-year old game, its graphics actually holds up quite well even by today’s standards. It’s likely that the remaster will also add modern tech like ray-tracing that didn’t exist back in the day.
With the teaser now out, an official announcement for Crysis 2 Remastered is imminent. It’s safe to say that the announcement is to come sometime this year. Though the same can’t be said about the game itself. It would be nice if it did, even if it’s just to coincide with the game’s 10-year anniversary.
