The Selangkah app has been updated with a feature called ‘Bubble’ that allows people to check-in together as a group. Though it seems to be primarily meant for family members, the feature can also be extended to include people outside of the user’s household.
Bubble is apparently based on what is practised and encouraged in countries such as New Zealand and Taiwan, which have done well in keeping their COVID-19 numbers low.
Selangkah users can now set up their Bubble groups and add relevant members to them. The app has three kinds of Bubbles – Family, which obviously consists only of family members; Friends, which refers to the user’s closest companions; and Colleagues, which are co-workers that the user frequently meets with.
Bubble can apparently also be used throughout the Selangkah ecosystem for group appointments for RTK/PCR screening tests, home quarantine monitoring, and vaccination. Selangkah said that, in the future, Bubble will be upgraded with “advanced analytics to measure personal and group behavioural exposure to Covid-19.”
The Selangkah app has also undergone a redesign to provide a more intuitive experience. The icons on the home screen are now categorised, and a special WhatsApp button has been added so that users can chat with the Selangkah customer support team if they need assistance.
