Back in February, Nintendo teased the port of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, in a series of marketing tweets with Activision. It looks like the port is finally happening, as it now has a release date.
Though the Nintendo of America Twitter account, the company announced that the THPS 1+2 Switch port will be coming out on 25 June. And while graphics will naturally not compare the other versions the game is available in, it is otherwise feature complete.
THPS 1+2 was originally released back in September 2020. It’s a remaster of the first two titles in the decades old series, combined into one. Features that didn’t exist back in the first game, like manuals, were added in the remaster. This made the whole experience between the two generations a more fluid one. The old format of having limited amount of time in stages to complete as many challenges as possible is retained.

But because of the limited time format, a Switch port of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 makes a lot of sense. Since the whole idea of a portable is short bursts of gaming time, it seems like a perfect fit. In hindsight, it’s a little surprising that this port didn’t happen alongside the game’s general release last year.
