It’s fair to say that Hitman devs IO Interactive have had a pretty good run with their latest trilogy. The company is also working on an unnamed 007 title as well. But in addition to that, the company also has a third IP in the works, being made for the Xbox.
Windows Central reports that IO Interactive is hiring various positions for a Project Dragon. The nature of this is said to be that of a fantasy genre, and will be a “connected-world” RPG. The setting is a medieval one, with the eponymous winged reptiles. The company has also reportedly been in talks with Microsoft for a few months regarding the project.
My friends from WindowsCentral report that Xbox is "potentially working with IO Interactive on an exclusive fantasy RPG, codenamed 'Project Dragon'".
Eurogamer sources have also heard of this new project, which is described as being AAA in scope, still very early in development. https://t.co/O73ehG2YEg pic.twitter.com/oKgBJLxsYs

Eurogamer corroborated the report, saying that the new IO Interactive game will be published under the Xbox Games Studios banner. Though overall, the project is still very early in development. Add that to the AAA scale, and it likely won’t see the light of day for another couple of years.
Microsoft publishing the next IO Interactive game is one thing. But another, that hopefully doesn’t come to pass, is the game being an Xbox exclusive. But whether or not that is the case remains to be seen. And considering it’s still in its very early stages, there’s every possibility that it gets cancelled before it even gets announced.
