The next-generation version of Judgment was released just a couple of days ago. But it looks like Sega is working on something else for the Yakuza spin-off. The company has put up a microsite that reads “Judgment Day”, counting down to 7 May 2021.
British website NME first discovered the microsite. It also reports that the website went up around the same time that the next-gen version of Judgment was released. At the bottom of the website is a link to the Sega US YouTube channel, and specifically to the announcement video.
As of now, it remains to be seen what this is all about. All that is known right now is that it is related to the Yakuza spin-off Judgment. The Judgment Day reference aside, the website URL uses the series’ Japanese name, Ryu Ga Gotoku, which is also the name of the studio behind the series.
Though last month, Gematsu noted that a number of trademarks went live in Japan. And among them was one Lost Judgment for Sega which suggests a sequel to the spin-off. Though it’s worth remembering that the game is called Judge Eyes in its home country. All that being said, we’ll just have to wait until 7 May before Sega announces what it has in store for the spin-off.
