AirAsia has launched a new vertical called Financial Marketplace by airasia money, which will be nestled within its app and feature comparisons of financial products and services.
Through a partnership with RinggitPlus, Financial Marketplace is currently offering credit card and personal loans. It will also show comparisons of insurance, investments, financial awareness and education, payments, as well as Islamic financial products and services.
“airasia money serves as an aggregator, bringing the best-matched options for our customer’s needs and helping them finance or achieve them,” said AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes. He announced that, following its Malaysian launch, the vertical will be available in Indonesia in the second quarter of this year, the Philippines in the third, and Thailand the fourth.
AirAsia has been remarkably busy lately, to say the least. Just yesterday, it launched a cosmetics-focused vertical called airasia beauty for the Klang Valley and Jakarta, Indonesia. Last month, it unveiled a chat service and a feature that gives out dietary advice. It’s also been looking for a “virtual idol” and planning to enter the e-hailing business.
