OPPO, according to a recent rumour, may be gearing up to launch a new entry to its Reno series of smartphones. However, it appears that the Chinese brand is far from done with the current generation, as it had recently launched the new Reno5 F variant in Malaysia.
The new Reno model comes with a 6.43-inch flat AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400px resolution, a refresh rate of 60Hz, up to 180Hz touch sampling rate, and an under-display fingerprint sensor. Powering the phone is a LTE-only MediaTek Helio P95 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (expandable via microSDXC). It also features a battery capacity of 4,310mAh with 30W fast charging support via OPPO’s VOOC Charge.
Flipping the phone over, you’ll notice that the Reno5 F offers a different design for its camera array. Housed in a 4×4 square arrangement are four cameras which comprise of a 48MP main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. Amusingly, the extra circle just below the quad-camera setup may look like a fifth sensor, but is actually a logo for the phone’s onboard AI visual enhancement feature. Meanwhile, housed in the punch-hole cutout of the device’s display is a 32MP selfie camera.
In terms of pricing, the Reno5 F retails at RM1,199, and is readily available for purchase via OPPO Malaysia’s website, official online stores on Lazada and Shopee, as well as authorised resellers nationwide. Lastly, the new smartphone is offered in two colour options: Fluid Black and Fantastic Purple.
