Months after the Maiden visual showcase, Resident Evil Village finally gets a proper gameplay demo. Maybe proper is too strong a word to use, because this demo is still quite the limited experience. It will be split into two areas of the game, and you can only try them out for a limited amount of time.
For better or worse, the demo will be coming to PlayStation platforms first. Both PS4 and PS5 owners will first get access to the Village environment of Resident Evil Village. This will be open for eight hours, from 8AM to 4PM on 18 April. Then the Castle area will be open on 25 April in the same time window.
One week later, the Resident Evil Village demo will become available to all platforms. This includes the aforementioned PS platforms, Steam, the Xbox Series X and S, as well as Google Stadia. For this demo window, you’ll get access to both areas for 24 full hours, on 2 May.
One week after the demo window, Resident Evil Village will be properly available on all platforms. Back in January, Capcom announced that the game will be available on 7 May, but taking timezones into consideration, 8 May seems to be the more likely date. Also announced alongside the demo is the inclusion of Mercenaries mode, which will be a part of the main game.
