Just yesterday, Dell announced that its Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 gaming laptop will be available in Malaysia sometime next month. It should also be known that the brand is also launching its non-Alienware, self-titled G15 Ryzen Edition gaming laptop, for the mainstream gaming masses.
By comparison, the starting specifications of the G15 Ryzen Edition looks more basic than its Alienware counterpart; you’re still getting AMD’s Zen 3 Ryzen 5000 mobile series CPU, but hardware starts from a 6-core Ryzen 5 5600H and tops out with a Ryzen 7 5800H. For graphics, this particular model comes equipped with a 115W NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, while system memory starts at 8GB DDR4, but can be expanded up to 32GB DDR4.
As for storage, the G15 Ryzen Edition starts with and 512GB of NVMe SSD, but depending on what is offered, consumers could have up to 2TB of NVMe storage. Last but not least is the laptop’s 15.6-inch Full HD display. More specifically, the display panel is available in two refresh rates: 120Hz and 165Hz.
As mentioned, the Dell G15 Ryzen Edition will arrive on our shores sometime in early May. Local pricing is still not yet available, but it is expected that the laptop could have a starting price of US899 (~RM3720) when it launches.
