AMD Threadripper 5000 Series CPU Rumoured To Launch In August This Year

Now that AMD’s Zen 3 architecture is out and about in the form of its Ryzen 5000 series CPUs, many are asking when its Threadripper would be getting its slice of the pie. The answer to that proverbial question is supposedly August this year, if the rumours are to be believed.

That rumour, by the way, comes by way of a leakster by the name of Yuko Yoshida (@KittyYYuko), who tweeted on their Twitter account about the possibility of the AMD breaking its silence on Zen 3 Threadripper HEDT CPUs, codenamed “Chagall” making their debut during the second half of this year. The tweet is written in Japanese, but Google Translate roughly translates the message as the message written above.

There are other subtle hints that have been listed about a Zen 3 Threadripper series. HWInfo, for example, and mentions in the footnotes for upcoming changes in its app that it is improving detection of AMD Threadripper PRO and “next-generation Threadripper” processors.

Specs-wise, we still don’t know much about the elusive Zen 3 Threadripper CPU lineup, but like AMD’s Ryzen 3000 and Ryzen 5000 series, the HEDT CPUs are expected to be compatible with currently existing TRX40 motherboard, but with a necessary BIOS update of course.
