Originally scheduled to take place in June 2020, the global COVID-19 pandemic has forced UEFA to postpone Euro 2020 to June 2021. Astro today once again reiterated its commitment to broadcast all 51 Euro 2020’s matches in 4K UHD, just as per what the company had announced more than a year ago.
At the same time, Astro has also revealed that it will prepare two dedicated 4K UHD channels for the championship which is one of the biggest football championships in the world. Specifically, the company has reserved Channel 871 and 872 for live and repeat matches from Euro 2020.
According to the FAQ on Astro’s website, customers will be able to access Channel 781 on 10 June while Channel 782 will be opened on 20 June. Naturally, they need to have the Astro Ultra Box in order to watch Euro 2020 in 4K UHD.
On another hand, Channel 810 and 809 which are reserved for HD broadcast will go live on 1 June. In addition to the 51 matches from the main tournament, these HD channels will also be showing friendly and qualifying matches as well as highlights and magazine shows.
Not to forget, customers can also catch all of the Euro 2020 matches and related contents even when they are not at home via the Astro GO app. In order to obtain access to the Euro 2020’s broadcast, they do need to have the Sports Pack as part of their Astro subscription.
To celebrate the occasion, Astro is also giving away 51 units of 4K UHD TVs leading to the tournament. For more information, just head on to Astro’s official website right here.
