Samsung has officially announced three new entries to its Galaxy A line-up, starting with the Galaxy A32, Galaxy A52, and the Galaxy A72. All three smartphones feature new minimalist designs, improved cameras, and longer battery life.
Let’s begin with the new Galaxy A32, which is the more lightweight model of the three. The phone comes with a notched 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. Under its hood is a Mediatek Helio G80 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and a storage capacity of 128GB (expandable up to 1TB via microSD).
In the photography department, the Galaxy A32 features a quad-camera setup consisting of a 64MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP depth and a 5MP macro sensor. Housed in the notch on its front display is a 20MP selfie camera.
Other than that, the device is running on Android 11 via Samsung’s One UI 3.1 and is equipped with a 5,000mAH battery with 15W USB-C fast charging support. It’s worth noting that the Galaxy A32 is also available in a 5G-capable variant with the same specs, but featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G SoC instead.
Next up is the Galaxy A52, which looks almost similar to its predecessor when viewed in front but with an entirely new rear panel with a seamless camera bump and hazed finishing. The new mid-ranger comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400px and 90Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is Snapdragon 720G processor with 8GB RAM, 256GB storage (expandable up to 1TB via microSD), and a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging capability via USB-C.
On its back is a quad-camera setup featuring a 64MP main shooter with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and 10x digital zoom capabilities, 12MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and a 5MP depth sensor. Its front display’s punch-hole cutout houses a 32MP selfie camera.
Lastly, we have the high-end model of the bunch with the Galaxy A72. This new model also bears a resemblance to its predecessor but featuring a new minimalist-inspired rear panel with hazed finishing. The smartphone sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400px, 90Hz refresh rate and a small top-centered cutout for its front-facing camera. Similar to the Galaxy A52, the phone is also equipped with a Snapdragon 720G chipset, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage and expandable memory of up to 1TB via microSD. Battery-wise, it comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 25W USB-C fast charging support.
Imaging is the biggest highlight for the Galaxy A72 model, thanks to its impressive quad-camera setup. Housed in the rear camera bump is a 64MP main sensor with OIS capability, 12MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and an 8MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical and 30x digital zooming capabilities. Meanwhile, housed in the punch-hole cutout on its display is a 32MP selfie camera.
Both the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 are running on Android 11 via One UI 3.1, features AKG-tuned stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and are rated at IP67 for water and dust resistance. All three Galaxy A models are offered in four colour options: Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue, Awesome Black, and Awesome White.
The pricing and availability for the new Galaxy A32, Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones have not been revealed at this time. Meanwhile, Samsung Malaysia has confirmed that all three will see a local launch sometime soon. We’ll definitely keep you posted once further details are provided.
