First announced at CES 2021, the Alienware M15 and Alienware M17 R4 gaming laptops have finally made their way to Malaysia. In general, both gaming laptops are similar to their 2020’s R3 predecessors with one major exception: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics.
Equipped with Intel Core i7-10870H as standard, the base unit for both models come with GeForce RTX 3070 by default. However, customers can choose to have the beefier RTX 3080 instead for an additional RM 1,000.
The base unit for the M15 R4 comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD 300Hz display which customers can swap with a 4K 60Hz OLED panel and Tobii Eyetracking sensor combo for RM 1,200. For the M17 R4, they can choose to add NVIDIA G-Sync native support to the original 17.3-inch Full HD 144Hz display or replace it with a 360Hz panel that also has native support for G-Sync.
Additionally, there is also the 4K 60Hz panel and Tobii Eyetracking sensor option for the M17 R4. The cost for these display options is between RM 150 to RM 1,500.
Both the M15 and M17 R4 can also be fitted with up to 32GB DDR4-2933 RAM. In terms of storage, the M15 can be maxed out at three 1TB solid state drives while the larger M17 is able to support one 2TB and two 1TB solid state drives at one time.
Price-wise, the Alienware M15 R4 starts from RM 11,999 while the Alienware M17 R4 starting price tag is somehow lower at RM 11,499. However, Dell Malaysia’s online store is currently listing them for slightly less at RM 10,999 and RM 10,799 respectively although the company didn’t say how long the cash rebate offer will last on the site.
