It’s been nearly a year since Sony last launched the mid-range Xperia 10 II, and if the brand’s habits are on point, it would also be time for a successor to be announced. On that note, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that someone has already leaked details of the alleged Xperia 10 III, along with image renders.
The leaked details come by way of Steve Hemmerstoffer from Voice, and claims that Sony may be planning on unveiling its next mid-range flagship within the next few weeks. Hemmerstoffer even manages to lay down some technical details about the phone. For a start, he says that the Xperia 10 III will reportedly have a 6.0-inch display, free from a notch or punch hole in it. Instead, the phone will retain the same thin bezel at the top, which also houses an 8MP selfie camera.
Moving on, the alleged Xperia 10 III’s overall design clearly doesn’t stray very far from its predecessor. If nothing else, they give us the impression that the phone could very well end up being slightly thicker when launched. All while still retaining the dual glass aesthetic, both at the back and front.
Additionally, it appears that the phone will also feature a triple-camera main array, which is one camera sensor more than the Xperia 10 II. No official details about the camera have been announced yet, obviously, but Hemmerstoffer says he is expecting the module to be a combination of 12MP and 8MP sensors. Further, it also seems as if the phone could feature a dedicated Google Assistant button, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As with all rumours and hearsays, this story is best consumed with a very large grain of salt. On top of that, and assuming that the phone does launch, it is very likely that Malaysia will only receive the phone months after the fact.
