Xiaomi Malaysia has revealed via its social media channels that it will be launching the Mi Watch Color (locally referred to as the Mi Watch) next week. The watch originally launched in China in January 2020 and features a circular display, unlike the Lite variant that was released in Malaysia much later in the same year.
Teasers of the new Mi Watch did not detail its full specifications, so it is uncertain if we’ll be expecting the same device or an updated version of it. Just to recap, the Chinese release of the Xiaomi Mi Watch Color features a 1.39-inch circular AMOLED display with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. It is also water-resistant with a rating of 5 ATM, and features a 420mAh battery that is claimed to last up to 14 days on a full charge.
Besides that, the smartwatch comes with a variety of health monitoring features such as fitness and sleep tracking, as well as heart rate monitoring. The Mi Watch Color is offered in black and silver colour options, along with six different silicone wristbands and leather straps. It also comes with over 110 watch faces for user personalisation.
The pricing and purchase availability of the upcoming Xiaomi smartwatch in Malaysia will be revealed during its launch next week, on 20 January 2021. For reference, the Mi Watch Color is priced at CNY799 (~RM469) when it first debuted in China last year.
