In case you missed it, the Epic Games Store is giving away free games every day. This lasts until the end of the month, which is extremely generous considering it’s usually one free game every week . Yesterday’s free game was Alien: Isolation, and today, it’s the turn of Metro 2033 Redux.
Metro 2033 Redux was first released back in 2014, as a remaster of sorts to the original game, which was in turn released in 2010. The game itself is based on the novel of the same name by Dmitry Glukhovsky. It’s set in post-apocalyptic Moscow after a nuclear war, with people living in underground metros to escape the irradiated surface.
Chances are, you’ve already played this game if you played last year’s Metro Exodus. It was first released on the Epic Games Store, only becoming available on Steam a year later. It was one of the many games that took the Epic exclusivity deal, and faced some form of backlash from gamers. It’s also the third game in the series, with Metro: Last Light sitting in between 2033 and Exodus.
At any rate, remember to claim Metro 2033 from the Epic Games Store today for a free game. You have until midnight, which should be plenty of time to do so. And judging from a previous leak, tomorrow’s free game should be Tropico 5, but we’ll see if that’s really the case.
