ORIGINAL STORY (1:56 PM):
Barely a month after the previous incident, Maybank once again is facing some issues on the Maybank2u website and its corresponding mobile app. The matter was made public through an announcement by the bank on its Facebook and Twitter page at around 1:18 PM today.
However, the cause to the problem was not mentioned in the announcement. That being said, the nature of the disruption has been described as “intermittent slowness” in other words mean that customers may experience a sluggish performance when using the Maybank2u website and mobile apps.
As noted in the announcement that is shown above, the bank has advised customers to utilise the MAE app for their transactions until the issue has been resolved. In case you missed it, the MAE app was launched early last month and has been positioned as the replacement for the existing Maybank2u app in the near future.
Based on the announcement, it also seems that the bank has yet to be able to determine the recovery time for the intermittent issue that Maybank2u is facing at the moment. We’ll keep you posted once we hear more from Maybank.

Maybank has released a brief notice to inform customers that the intermittent performance issue surrounding Maybank2u website and mobile app has been resolved. The announcement was posted on the bank’s Facebook and Twitter at around 4:48 PM:
However, Maybank didn’t disclose any details regarding the true nature of the sluggishness that Maybank2u users experienced throughout the day. Without any official explanations from the bank, it is up to anyone’s guess.
