POCO has officially launched its latest entry-level smartphone, the POCO M3, via an online launch event that was held earlier. Along with this, the company also confirmed that the new handset will be arriving in Malaysia this Thursday on 27 November 2020.
The POCO M3 features a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, a waterdrop notch, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. On its right hand side is a side mounted fingerprint sensor, while on top is a 3.5mm audio jack, and located on the bottom of the phone is a USB-C port.
Under the hood, the M3 packs a Snapdragon 662 chipset that is paired with a Qualcomm Adreno 610 GPU, 4GB RAM, and a storage capacity of up to 128GB. Powering the phone is a large 6,000mAh battery, which the company claims is able to last around 3 days under moderate usage. That said, it also includes 18W fast charging support, and a 22.5W charger is included in the box.
On the back of the new smartphone is a wide camera island that houses a triple camera setup consisting of a 48MP main camera, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. Housed in the waterdrop notch on its display is a 8MP selfie camera. As usual with most smartphone offerings in the market, the new POCO handset also features a slew of photography and video modes as well as AI-powered imaging enhancements.
The POCO M3 is offered in three colours: Cool Blue, Power Black and POCO Yellow. However, only the first two mentioned will be available in Malaysia during launch, while the availability of the third colour will be announced at a later date. As for pricing, the 4GB + 64GB variant will be retailing at RM599, while the 4GB + 128GB model is priced at RM699. The phones will be sold exclusively on the Xiaomi official store on Lazada.
The company also revealed that both variants will be offered at only RM499 and 599 respectively during its local release on 27 November, while stocks last. Additionally, customers who purchase the POCO M3 on the same day will also receive a free Mi In-Ear Headphones Basic, while stocks last.
