Two weeks ago, we saw reports of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra possibly getting the S Pen, but not the slot for it. It looks like the benefit may also extend to the Z Fold 3 as well. And with the identity of the Note series going to the others, it looks like the series as a whole may be discontinued.
Korean business news outlet Aju Daily reports that both the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Z Fold 3 will indeed be getting the S Pen stylus. The report goes on to say that the latter will have a dedicated slot for it too. It will even get the second-generation ultra-thin glass (UTG) for it to work with the stylus.
But with the S Pen moving on to being outside the Note series, the series itself will be discontinued. Which makes sense, but it means that the stylus will be locked behind the more premium devices. Unless, of course, it comes to other devices in the Galaxy S line beyond just the Ultra model.
Another extra tidbit is that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will possibly come with an under-display camera. That being said, the company is still working on getting the tech right, and may not make the final cut. Prior to the under-display tech, the company had planned for it to use a pop-up camera for the front-facing shooter.
