The OnePlus 8T that was released back in October is the last known model to come out from the brand’s flagship series for this year. With the eighth iteration now out of the way, it’s only natural for OnePlus to focus on the next generation of its smartphones. Thanks to a recent leak, we may have a good look at what its 2021 flagship might look like.
Renders of the alleged OnePlus 9 Pro have been provided by none other than Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka OnLeaks) via Twitter and his official Voice page. According to the leakster, the upcoming phone features a 6.7-inch curved display with a single punch-hole selfie camera in the top left corner. The renders suggest that the phone’s volume rocker and lock button are located on its right hand side, while its speaker and USB-C port are located on the bottom.
On the back of the OnePlus 9 Pro is a Samsung Galaxy S20/Note20 Ultra-like camera layout that appears slightly protruded from its rear casing. Housed in the camera island are four unspecified sensors – two of which are larger than the rest. Other hardware also in the compartment includes a flash, microphone and “some sensors”, the leakster added.
As usual with most leaks such as these, no detailed specifications of the device’s hardware such as RAM configurations or battery capacity are provided. If we were to guess, it is possible that the 2021 OnePlus flagship may feature the upcoming Snapdragon 875 chipset that is intended for high-end smartphones.
Additionally, Hemmerstoffer claims that the new OnePlus 9 Pro is slated to launch next year in March. Without any official word from the company regarding the phone at this time, it is still uncertain whether this supposed leak is accurate or not.
