It’s been a while since the world has seen a proper James Bond title, the most popular title in recent memory obviously being the video game adaptation of GoldenEye. That may change soon, especially since the studio behind the critically acclaimed Hitman series, IO Interactive, recently announced that it was working on one.
The game currently goes by the title “Project 007”, which is just a working title until IO Interactive produces something substantial and presentable for the masses to see. At this stage, the studio is in the recruitment phase and building up the team. As you can imagine, details about Project 007 is understandably scarce and limited.
All things considered, IO Interactive sounds like the perfect studio to make a James Bond game; as evidenced by its portfolio of numerous Hitman titles, there is little doubt that the company is best suited towards bringing a new cloak and dagger video game to the table, especially one based around one of the world’s most famous spy.
On that note, we can’t help but feel excited over what IO Interactive has planned for the IP, especially considering the new graphics technology that is currently available across all platform. It is also unclear if the studio plans on making Project 007 an episodic title, or if it will be a full-sized game, paving the way for potential sequels in the future.
