POCO has announced that it will launch a new smartphone for global markets via live stream on 24 November 2020. Other than revealing its name to be known as the POCO M3, the Xiaomi subsidiary brand did not provide any further details regarding the handset.
However, other tech websites such as Gizmochina and GSMArena believe that the phone may just be a tweaked version of another upcoming Xiaomi smartphone, the Redmi Note 10 4G. If accurate, this would mean that both devices may share similarities, especially in terms of design and specifications.
For reference, the aforementioned Redmi phone is listed in TENAA to feature a 6.53-inch FHD IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch. Powering the phone is said to be a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and an internal storage capacity of 64GB. Also onboard is a 6,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.
Meanwhile, on its back is a triple camera setup which includes a 48MP primary and two unspecified sensors. Housed in the waterdrop notch on its display is an 8MP selfie camera.
Whether indeed both the POCO M3 and the Redmi Note 10 4G will feature the same design and specifications remains to be seen. As mentioned earlier, the new POCO phone will be launched on 24 November at 8pm local time. The live stream can be viewed via the brand’s social media channels on Facebook and Twitter, as well as its official YouTube channel.
