Sony Interactive Entertainment scrubbed the launch window from the PS5 websites across Southeast Asia back in October. The exception to this was Singapore, to the ire of many gamers. Everywhere else, it left gamers anxious as to whether we’ll even be getting the console this year. But finally, the company has confirmed the date on which the console launches in Malaysia.
On its Malaysian site, SIE announced that the PS5 will be available starting 11 December 2020. Alongside the console, many of its accessories, like the DualSense controller, the Pulse 3D headset and the media remote, will also be available. The company also says games will be available between RM209 and RM299.
This is as great as news can get, considering our situation. We already have at least one local game store importing the PS5 from Hong Kong. While the choice of getting that is ultimately yours, the price you pay can easily get you two consoles via the slower official channels.
At any rate, come 11 December, you can get the PS5 for RM2299, or the Digital Edition for RM1869. As for accessories, the DualSense is priced at RM349, while the Pulse 3D headset is priced at RM469. Then you have the HD camera, media remote and the DualSense charging station, priced at RM279, RM149 and RM149, respectively.
