Astro has announced that a new download feature has been included in its Astro GO mobile application on Android, iOS, and Huawei devices. Suffice to say, this newly introduced ability now allows users to download their favourite shows onto their mobile devices and enjoy them while they are offline.
The company noted that the new feature is currently being rolled out in batches to all of the app’s users, so it may take a while to be available for some. Once accessible, more than 85% of the content on Astro GO will be downloadable, according to Astro. These include local and international shows such as Running Man, the first two seasons of Ejen Ali, as well as Astro Best and Astro First titles.
Using the download feature is pretty simple and straightforward. First, look up the content of your choice via the Astro GO in-app search function, and then just click the Download button. From there, users will be provided an option to select the quality of the download: Higher, Standard, or Lower. Astro noted that there will be no limits on the number of downloaded content, and users may download the same shows as many times as they wish.
All downloaded content is located by clicking on the My Library tab in the app. Also worth noting is that downloaded movies will be retained on the user’s device for two days, while TV show episodes are retained for seven days. Content that has surpassed its expiry will be deleted from the app (and your device) to free up storage for more downloads and so on.
This is a welcomed feature for Astro GO users, especially for those who wish to keep up with their shows or movies during offline instances. As mentioned earlier, the app is available on Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and Huawei App Gallery. Do ensure that your app version is up to date in order to access this new feature once it has been fully rolled out.
