Lenovo initially introduced the world’s first foldable PC, the ThinkPad X1 Fold, all the way back in January 2020. Just recently, the company has revealed that the new laptop is now available in Malaysia.
To recap, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold features a foldable 13.3-inch QXGA pOLED touch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, brightness level of 300nit and DCI-P3 coverage of 95%. Under its hood is an Intel Core i5-L16G7 processor with Intel Hybrid Technology and integrated graphics acceleration, 8GB LPDDR4X 4267MHz PoP Memory RAM, and storage capacity of up to 1TB via SSD M.2 2242 PCIe-NVMe TLC.
The foldable laptop includes a front facing Hybrid 5MP IR Camera, Dolby Atmos tuned Speaker System, four microphones, Windows 10 64-bit Home or Pro, and a leather Folio cover. It also features a 50Wh battery with 65W Rapid Charge support that is capable of lasting around 10 hours of use. As with most Lenovo PC products, you can choose to include extra components, accessories or software along with the device upon purchase. With additional costs, of course.
In terms of connectivity, the X1 Fold comes with two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports (with one usable as for DP), Pen accessory support, as well as WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 support. It’s worth noting that Lenovo Malaysia has confirmed that the local version of the device does not feature 5G or LTE support, unlike in certain markets around the world.
As mentioned earlier, the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is now locally available for purchase. The foldable laptop is sold at a starting price of RM10,840 including delivery, and those interested can visit the brand’s official website to place their orders.
