During today’s Conditional Movement Control Order (MCO) media briefing, Senior Minister for Security Cluster, Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that the current Conditional MCO (CMCO) period which was supposed to end on 9 November 2020 is being extended further to 6 December 2020.
Aside from that, the National Security Council (MKN) has also agreed to expand CMCO to other states within Peninsular Malaysia starting from 9 November until 6 December. However, Kelantan, Pahang, and Perlis are exempted from the implementation.
Even though they are not covered by the CMCO implementation, those that reside in Kelantan, Pahang, and Perlis are not allowed to perform interstate travels. Of course, inter-district travel within these states can take place as usual.
As for the standard operating procedure (SOP), it will remain similar to the existing implementation as noted on MKN’s official website [pdf]. We don’t have to tell you that the battle against COVID-19 is far from over, so do continue to maintain a high level of personal hygiene, wash your hands often, and please wear a face mask as well as practice social distancing if you need to go out from your home.
