Facebook is reportedly testing a Dark Mode theme setting on its dedicated app for both Android and iOS devices. As we had previously reported, Facebook’s dark mode was already in its testing-phase since the month of June. However, it was only available to a select number of users at the time. Now, it looks like the company is testing a wider and global rollout for all of its app users.
Facebook’s Dark Mode was first discovered by well-known researcher Jane Manchun Wong on her official Twitter account @wongmjane. The feature was confirmed after she had personally texted a Facebook representative who then revealed that the Dark Mode is already in its rollout phase. Still, do note that only a few users have received this feature up until this moment.

To utilise this feature, simply turn on Dark Mode from the Settings and Privacy toggle found within Facebook Menu tab. Alternatively, users will be allowed to choose their device’s system-level settings to provide the best match between Light or Dark mode on Facebook.
For now, it is not known when the Dark Mode feature on Facebook will reach our region. However, as usual, do keep your app updated to receive this feature when it is made available here in the coming weeks or months.
